Silence

Silence
Never thick and easy
But nervous
Waiting for them, with me
Whispers
Humming
Swarming softly
They weave, they fold
Engulf and drop me
Through labyrinthine dreams
Of others
A demon cast out
By my mother
A demon summoned
By my father
Spans timeless voids
And darker matter
They bargained over souls he’d brought
My father lost but never talked
One child died later
In the sun
One child died slowly
One child won

Silence
Never thick and easy
But screaming
Waiting for them, with me
